The technology runs itself

Charon runs camera and sound - with a seating plan and fixed camera positions, or without one entirely. Nobody has to operate anything in the room.

Check the transcript

Transcribe any stream at the click of a button - you pick the AI engine. Set up your lists of people and topics once in the archive; agenda, overlays and transcript build from them. If a Dicentis system is installed, speakers are matched automatically on top.

Publish and measure

Share recordings, playlists or single clips by public link, embed them in your website with the player code, or show them on a page of your own. Access statistics show how often they were watched.

Where is the Kavedo team located?

Our headquarters is in Puch, just outside Salzburg. Thanks to our digitalized workflow, we support partner businesses across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland from here. Communication happens via phone and video conferencing. We also often visit our customers on-site to get a better understanding and provide even better support.

Who is YourVideoArchiv by Kavedo for?

For organisations that manage and broadcast video centrally: parliaments and regional assemblies, cities and municipalities, educational institutions and businesses. Recording, editing, transcription, live streaming, player and analytics all run in one platform - no patchwork of tools.

Is the platform GDPR-compliant, and where is the data hosted?

Yes. YourVideoArchiv is GDPR-compliant and data is held in European data centres in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The Vienna and Salzburg sites are ISO 27001 certified; the Hallein data centre is certified to EN 50600.

Are captions generated automatically?

Yes. Videos are transcribed by AI; captions are generated in the WebVTT standard and can be corrected in the editor.

Does the transcript know who was speaking?

Yes. Speakers are imported straight from a Dicentis conference system into the transcript. Transcription runs on Whisper Large; you can correct the result in the editor and download it as a formatted Word file.

Can we stream live and archive the recording automatically?

Yes. Scheduled live streams automatically become searchable archive videos - the same player handles live and on-demand, with live agenda, countdown, chapter markers and optional restreaming to other platforms.

Can viewers ask questions during a broadcast?

Yes, in two separate ways. The Q&A tool collects questions for the stream administration only - they are never shown in the video; you reply live or later by email. The conversation chat, by contrast, sits beside the player and is visible to everyone; there you reply visibly as the administration and can release or hide contributions. Both are included from the Basic plan upwards and can be archived.

Can recordings be edited afterwards?

Yes. From the Basic plan upwards you trim videos right in the browser. Chapter marks, people and topic lists and a public download link are included in every plan.

Can we see how often a recording was watched?

Yes. Access statistics show views per video and per user - included in every plan.

Can the player be embedded in our existing website?

Yes. The HTML5 player embeds into any website via iframe; an embed-code dialog gives you the finished snippet. Adaptive HLS streaming (AV1 for Full HD and HD, h.264 for 360p), captions, a chapter sidebar, password protection and custom player skins are all available.

Do we need special hardware?

Not necessarily - content reaches the archive by web upload, Android app or livestream (RTMP or SRT). For fully automated recording with camera and microphone control, Kavedo offers the Charon encoders (Audio only, Charon Lite, Pro and 4K) with AutoLive direction via seating plan - with no AV team of your own.

Which languages does the interface support?

The interface is multilingual, German and English by default. Notifications are delivered translated; further languages can be added.

What does YourVideoArchiv cost?

The model combines a monthly subscription (tiered by scope) with optional Charon hardware as a one-off purchase. You’ll find the right plan under Subscriptions; for a specific quote, just get in touch.

What are onboarding and support like?

A guided tour walks you through the pages inside the app - start it any time from the question mark in the navigation bar, in German or English. Explainer videos and e-mail support come with it. And if you would rather have someone alongside: we set the platform up for you, or walk through it with you in a personal session.

Can several departments or brands have their own presence?

Yes. Tenant frontends let you create multiple public showcase pages, each with its own URL, branding (CSS) and curated, pinned videos - ideal for presenting departments, committees or brands separately.

Which additional components are required?

Depending on the setup, Charon systems need cameras, microphones, an audio interface, a PoE switch, a router and optionally a touch tablet. Kavedo supplies the Charon hardware, advises you on the additional components and guides your selection. You will find the details on the products page.
